Top 7 Tips for Hosting Thanksgiving

  1. Avoid controversial topics such as religion, politics, etc.
  2. Cook as much as possible beforehand. Most casseroles can be stored in the fridge until they need to be warmed up in the oven.
  3. Don’t deny any help. Hosting Thanksgiving is a feat in itself. It’s okay to encourage your guests to make something to help take some of the pressure off of you.
  4. Make a timeline with everything you need to do. This will help your scheduling and make sure you have everything you need done on time.
  5. Set the dinner table the night before. Believe it or not, this can save you a lot of time on the day of.
  6. Start the day out with an empty dishwasher and empty trash cans, with new bags nearby.
  7. Someone always makes a mess on Thanksgiving, so it’s a good idea to be prepared for it. Be sure to have cotton cloths, white vinegar, and a pretreat stick such as Tide to go for when the accidents happen.
